Earl Brutus, a British indie rock group formed in 1993 in England, was founded by Nick Sanderson, Rob Marche, Jamie Fry, and Stuart Boreman; Nick Sanderson served as the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band’s breakthrough came with the single "Life's Too Long" in 1993, which established their reputation for chaotic live performances and eclectic influences ranging from glam rock to electronica. Chronologically, Earl Brutus released the studio album Tonight You Are The Special One in 1998 under Fruition Records, followed by the single "Universal Plan" in 1998; the latter reached UK number 91 on the singles chart. The group toured extensively across the UK, sharing stages with acts such as Primal Scream and performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2010 after a period of inactivity. In 2008, Nick Sanderson passed away on 9 June from lung cancer, marking the end of the original lineup’s active era.
