Per Nielsen, born on June 1, 1954, in Sønderborg, Denmark, is a Danish trumpeter. He studied at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen from 1973 and joined the Schleswig Military Band as a cornetist in 1976. Nielsen became a trumpet player with the Southern Jutland Symphony Orchestra in 1986, further honing his skills under mentors like Vincent Chichowicz and Maurice André. As a soloist, he performed various concertos, including works by Joseph Haydn and Johann Nepomuk Hummel. Nielsen's international career included a performance at the Ball des Sports and appearances on radio and television. He released his debut album Trumpet Concertos in 1987, followed by notable releases such as Trumpet Emotions (1998) and My Way (2006). His work has been commercially successful, earning him three platinum and nine gold records in Denmark.
