Recover, an American rock band from Austin, Texas, was formed in 2000 by Dan Keyes (guitar/vocals), Robert Mann (guitar/vocals), Ross Tweedy (bass), and Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III (drums). A debut album, Rodeo & Picasso (2001), was followed by the EP Ceci n'est pas recover (2002). They toured extensively with acts such as Jimmy Eat World and AFI. In late 2002, they signed to Universal imprint Strummer Recordings. A second full-length album, This May Be the Year I Disappear (2004), was released. Recover went on hiatus in 2005 due to Keyes' relocation to New York but reunited in 2009. Albums include Challenger (2013), a collection of B-sides recorded with Rory Phillips.
