Natividad Macho Álvarez, known professionally as Nati Mistral, was born in 1928 in Madrid, Spain. She began her career as a singer and actress after studying music, canto, and declamation at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. In 1944, she won a radio contest singing "Roupa branca" in Portuguese, which led to her first single release, "Cançao Saloia" / "Roupa branca" (1944) for Columbia Records. Mistral's early film roles included María Fernanda, la Jerezana (1946) and Oro y marfil (1947). She later transitioned into musical theater, starring in productions like Te espero en el Eslava (1957) and La Perrichola (1963). In 1971, she signed with Discos Belter. Mistral's career spanned various genres including coplas and rancheras, and her notable albums include La violetera (1958). She received numerous awards, including the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes in 2007. Mistral passed away in 2017 in Madrid.
