Syqem, a German progressive metal band from Hamburg, was formed in 2001. The group initially started as a seven-string band and later transitioned to eight-string electric guitars, expanding their musical capabilities. In 2005, the band released Dzien and in 2008, they won the Schandmaul Newcomer Preis and performed at Rock am Ring. Their concept album Reflections of Elephants, inspired by Salvador Dalí’s works, was digitally released in 2012 and later made available as a limited-edition CD due to high fan demand. In 2014, members Daniel Bernath and Thomas Bernath launched the electro project The Delta Mode, releasing their first EP Wake Up on Crime Kitchen. Syqem released Artificial Irrelephants in 2023.
