The Skull, an American doom metal band, was founded in 2012 in Chicago by former members of Trouble: vocalist Eric Wagner, bassist Ron Holzner, and drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson. The band's name is derived from Trouble's second studio album, The Skull. The Skull performed a significant portion of Trouble's early material and headlined various festivals such as Hell's Pleasure in Germany and SHOD Fest in Connecticut. In 2014, they released their debut album, For Those Which Are Asleep, through Tee Pee Records. Their second studio album, The Endless Road Turns Dark, was released in September 2018. Eric Wagner died of COVID-19 pneumonia on August 23, 2021.
