Gil Ofarim, born Gil Doron Reichstadt Ofarim on August 13, 1982, in Munich, is a German musician and actor. The son of Israeli musician Abi Ofarim, Gil began his career in the music industry at age 15 when he was discovered by a talent scout from the magazine Bravo while performing in a Munich subway station. This encounter led to his first single "Round 'n' Round (It Goes)", released in November 1997, which reached the top 40 in Germany. His debut album Here I Am followed in May 1998 and achieved international success. Ofarim's career evolved through various phases, including his 2003 album On My Own, which marked a shift from pop rock to adult contemporary genres. He also ventured into acting, starring in the film Endlich Sex! in 2004 and the television drama Sturmflut in 2006. In 2008, Ofarim formed the band Acht, releasing their debut album Stell dir vor in 2010. He participated in the second season of The Voice Germany in 2012 and won the television dance competition Let's Dance in 2017. Notable singles include "Man In The Mirror" (2012), a cover of Michael Jackson's hit, which re-entered the German charts after a decade-long absence.
