SaxoFOUR, an Austrian saxophone ensemble, was formed in 1991. The group consists of Florian Bramböck, Klaus Dickbauer, Christian Maurer, and Wolfgang Puschnig, who play various saxophones, clarinets, and occasionally the flute. SaxoFOUR gained initial recognition through their performances at the Austria Jazz Tage Vöcklabruck. Their debut album Horns Astray was released in 1998 under PAO Records. The ensemble's discography includes notable releases such as Reindeer Games (2002) and European Christmas (2004), both on Emarcy Records. SaxoFOUR has collaborated with prominent artists, including the Portuguese singer Maria João, resulting in the album Cinco (2005). The group has performed over 200 concerts across Europe, showcasing their unique blend of experimental jazz and new improvisational music.
