Inseparably linked to the personality of its lead singer, Roberto Piazza (the son of Italian immigrants born in 1945), Little Bob Story is a French band from Le Havre. Founded in 1974 by musicians passionate about rock, blues, and even jazz, Little Bob Story long held its own against its British and American counterparts (in those countries, the music press dubbed it the “French MC5 or Dr. Feelgood”), truly coming into its own during epic and lively concerts. Singing in English—which barred them from mainstream radio and television—the band nonetheless built a strong following over two decades. Despite constant lineup changes, it remains—an example of musical integrity and unreserved commitment to the rock crusade—one of the greatest bands in the history of French rock. In 2015, the gang from Le Havre celebrated forty years of loyal service to the blues and rock with a twenty-fifth album titled Howlin', released under the name Little Bob Blues Bastards.
