Amina Sewali, born on 23 June 1989 in Uganda, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and actress. She emigrated to Norway at age four and settled in Oslo. Sewali began her performance career in 2006, appearing in Izzat – en kjærlighetsopera at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. Her music career started with the release of her debut single “One More Digit” in 2010, after signing with Warner Music Norway. In 2011, she released her self-titled debut studio album, Amina Sewali, produced by Even Johansen. She left her label later that year. In 2013, Sewali went on a tour called Amina Sewali – Gjør det selv! with Concerts Norway. Her notable performances include playing Solveig in a 2014 production of Peer Gynt at the National Theatre in Oslo and participating in Melodi Grand Prix 2017 with the song “Mesterverk,” competing in the final on 11 March.
