Latif is an American R&B singer and Grammy-nominated songwriter who was mentored by the legendary Teddy Pendergrass. He began his professional recording career after signing with Sony/550, later releasing his debut studio album, Love in the First (2003), under Universal Motown. The album featured the charting single "I Don't Wanna Hurt You." Latif has since established himself as a prolific songwriter for major artists, including Usher, Chris Brown, and Musiq Soulchild. In 2017, he expanded his musical reach by forming the electronic-soul duo Lo Boii with Aaron Kleinstaub, debuting the single "Floor Seats" in 2019.
