Larissa Strogoff, born Larissa in 1974 in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, is a German singer known for her work in Volksmusik and World music. She began her musical journey at a young age with Russian folklore and Gypsy music. In 1990, Strogoff gained initial recognition by performing "Zigeunerjunge" on the ARD show "Lass Dich überraschen" hosted by Rudi Carrell. Following this appearance, she embarked on concert tours with her Balalaika ensemble Samowar. In 2003, music producer Michael Bensen discovered Strogoff, leading to the release of her first single and subsequent TV appearances. Between 2003 and 2014, she released four CD albums, including Von Liebe Und Sehnsucht, and 20 singles featuring predominantly original German songs. Strogoff also dedicated time to her Gypsy ensemble "Latcho," focusing on traditional Russian Roma music from 2010 onwards.
