Evangelia Nikolakopoulou, known professionally as Lina, was born on June 30, 1957, in Methana, Greece. She began writing texts during her school years after a teacher recognized her talent. After studying social and political sciences at the Panteion University in Athens, Nikolakopoulou started her career as a lyricist with the release of "Να σoυ λερώvω τo φιλί" on Vicky Moscholiou's album Σκoυριασμέvα χείλια in 1981. She gained significant recognition with her first major collaboration, the album Κυκλοφορώ Κι Οπλοφορώ, released in 1985 with Alkistis Protopsalti and Stamatis Kraounakis. Throughout her career, she has written lyrics for numerous Greek and international artists, including Dimitra Galani, Haris Alexiou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, and Sting. In 2004, she wrote the Greek text for the official song of the Athens Olympics, "Να το φως", performed by Giannis Kotsiras. Nikolakopoulou received the Silver Cross of the Phoenix Order in recognition of her artistic contributions.
