Prestige is a Finnish thrash metal and speed metal group from Tampere, formed in 1987. The band was founded by brothers Ari and Tero Karppinen, who were joined by bassist and vocalist Aku Kytölä. In 1988, guitarist Jan “Örkki” Yrlund joined the group. The band name was inspired by the film Climax Prestige. In June 1988, the group released the demo Gods and performed at the festival Metal Massacre.The band signed with Poko Rekords and released the debut studio album Attack Against Gnomes in 1989, which reached number 20 on the Finnish charts. Prestige released the EP Veijo in 1989 and the single "Priest" in 1990. The group released the albums Selling the Salvation (1990) and Parasites in Paradise (1992). Following a performance at the festival Ruisrock, the band became inactive in 1992. The group resumed activity in 2007 and released the compilation Decades of Decay. In 2021, the band released the album Reveal the Ravage.
