Valiant Swart, born Pierre Nolte on November 25, 1965 in Wellington, South Africa, is a musician, actor, and composer. At 11, he received his first guitar from his father and began playing songs by artists like George Baker and Joe Dolan. Swart's music career took off with the release of Die Mystic Boer in 1995, followed by albums such as Dorpstraat Revisited (1996), Kopskoot (1997), and Roekeloos (1998). His success increased with the release of "Sonvanger" (2002), which has notably been covered by multiple artists. In 2003, Swart gained further recognition for his role as Jinx in the Afrikaans romantic drama series Song vir Katryn, which also featured several of his original songs. The album Song vir Katryn was released that same year. Notable collaborations include A Year in the Sun (2003) with Koos Kombuis and @Jinx (2004) with Mel Botes.
