Nicklaus Schandelmaier, known professionally as En Esch, is a German musician and composer born on 23 March 1968 near Frankfurt. He achieved professional recognition as a member of the industrial rock ensemble KMFDM between 1985 and 1999, contributing to ten studio albums as a vocalist, percussionist, and producer. His recording career includes the debut solo studio recording Cheesy (1993) and the track “Confidence” (1993). During the early 1990s, he collaborated with the ensemble Pigface, performing on the studio recording Gub (1990) and participating in several tours. After KMFDM became inactive in 1999, Esch formed the ensemble Slick Idiot with Günter Schulz, releasing the studio recording DickNity (2001). His discography includes the collaboration with Mona Mur 120 Tage - The Fine Art of Beauty and Violence (2009) and the solo studio recording Spänk (2014), which was funded through crowdfunding. He released the solo studio recording Trash Chic (2016).
