Beautiful Sin is a multinational power metal ensemble established in 2005. The group originated when drummer Uli Kusch met Belgian singer Magali Luyten and produced an unreleased demo for her band. In late 2004, Kusch and Luyten discussed the formation of a new project. The lineup consisted of keyboardist Axel Mackenrott from the band Masterplan, alongside guitarist Jørn Viggo Lofstad and bassist Steinar Krokmo from the ensemble Pagan's Mind. Based in Germany, Norway, Belgium, and Sweden, the group was influenced by the band Helloween. The ensemble released its debut studio recording, The Unexpected, in May 2006 through AFM Records. Following the appearance of the debut album, Carl Johan Grimmark joined the group as a second guitarist. The ensemble remained active in the power metal and heavy metal genres.
