Eyefear is an Australian progressive and power metal ensemble formed in 1994 in Melbourne. The group was founded by Con Papazoglou, Rob Gorham, Zain Kimmie, and Ken Taylor, with vocalist Jason Smart joining later that year. The ensemble recorded its debut studio album, Edge of Existence, between 1995 and 1996. Following lineup changes, the band released the EP Dawn... A New Beginning in 1999. Vocalist Danny Cecati and keyboardist Garrett Ryan joined the group in 2000. Under the direction of Endel Rivers, the ensemble recorded the album 9 Elements of Inner Vision, which was released through Massacre Records in 2004. Eyefear signed with the label Dockyard 1 for the release of A World Full of Grey (2007) and The Unseen (2008). The group's music featured precise percussion and prominent keyboard arrangements.
