Mama's Boys was a Northern Irish hard rock band from County Fermanagh. The group consisted of three McManus brothers: Patrick Francis "Pat" McManus on lead guitar and fiddle, John McManus on bass and vocals, and Thomas "Tommy" McManus on drums. The trio formed in 1978 after growing up on a farm near Derrylin and starting their musical career as award-winning traditional Irish musicians. They began as Pulse but changed the name to Mama's Boys and released their debut album Official Bootleg in 1980. The band gained attention by supporting popular acts like Hawkwind and Thin Lizzy, leading to a worldwide record deal with Jive Records. In 1984, Mama's Boys achieved chart success with a cover of "Mama We're All Crazy Now", which reached number 54 in the American charts. Their album Power And Passion broke into the Billboard Top 100 in the US in 1985. Despite line-up changes and Tommy McManus' health struggles, including a bone marrow transplant in 1993, Mama's Boys continued touring extensively until Tommy’s passing in November 1994. Following this tragedy, the band disbanded, marking the end of their musical journey.
