Maxim Magrini, known professionally as Bad Sector, was born in Lucca, Italy in 1966 and is an Italian musician and composer. While working at the Computer Art Lab of ISTI in Pisa, Magrini developed original gesture interfaces that he utilized in live performances, including devices like 'Aerial Painting Hand' and 'UV-Stick'. Bad Sector's debut album Ze was released in 1994, marking the beginning of a prolific career. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Magrini released a series of albums including Ampos and Pressurized Music. His work often explores themes of microbiology, algorithms, physics, and space exploration. Notable releases include The Harrow (2001), Kosmodrom (2005), and Unification (2013). Magrini's music is characterized as a blend of ambient, noise, industrial, minimal, and experimental genres, often described by the artist himself as "deeply emotional dark ambient noise".
