Nick van den Broeke, known professionally as Nick MacKenzie, was born on March 2, 1950, in Bandung, Indonesia. He is a Dutch singer who began his musical journey at the age of 15 as a member of the group Secrets. He later joined Road, another band that achieved chart success with "Never Leave Me Lonely" in 1971. MacKenzie's solo career took off with the release of his debut single "One Is One", which reached number two on the Dutch charts in summer 1973. This was followed by additional hits such as "Juanita" and "Peaches On A Tree", both of which performed well in the Netherlands and Germany. His first self-titled album, was released that same year. Throughout the mid-1970s, MacKenzie continued to release successful singles like "In Old Mexico", "Hug Me", and "Tell The World". Notable albums from this period include Tell The World... (1975) and The Leaves Are Falling (1982) after the success of his 1980 single "Hello, Good Morning" reached number 34 in the Dutch charts. He continued to release albums over the next few decades including Saved By The Grace (1997) and Night Live (2000), returning ten years later with Mystique followed by Mystery in 2013.
