Andy Manndorff was an Austrian composer and jazz guitarist. He studied classical guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. His early career included living in Amsterdam from 1980 to 1987, followed by work in New York until 1995. He then returned to Vienna, where he focused on his own projects, composed chamber music including the opera Larry, and taught electric and acoustic guitar at the Vienna Music Institute. Manndorff released several notable albums including Hard Poetry (2003), Up To Scratch (2005), and Dirt & Soil (2011). His collaborations included performances with the Karnataka College of Percussion, the Vienna Art Orchestra, and various trio formations, as well as work with musicians such as Wolfgang Puschnig, Dave Liebman, Thomas Kaufmann, Andi Schreiber, and Moa Janes. Manndorff died in 2017 in Vienna.
