Tilman Rossmy, born August 7, 1958 in Essen, Germany, is a German songwriter. He started his musical career in 1982 with the band Die Regierung, which began as a one-man project. The band's early demo recordings were praised in the British magazine Melody Maker. Rossmy financed and released Supermüll (1984) on his own label before disbanding the group. In 1990, he reformed Die Regierung with new members and signed with L’age d’or, a label associated with the Hamburger Schule. Their album So drauf (1992) featured the hit song "Loswerden", which was later covered by several artists including The Walkabouts and the Lassie Singers. Rossmy's solo career began in the mid-1990s with the release of Willkommen Zuhause (1996), which included the independent hit "Bodycount T-Shirt". He also collaborated with Bernd Begemann on a successful tour managed by Nick Cavacas.
