Kolossale Jugend were a German independent rock and post-punk band from Hamburg active between 1988 and 1991. The ensemble was a pioneer of the Hamburger Schule movement and derived their name from Colossal Youth (1980), the studio recording by Young Marble Giants. They released their debut studio album, Heile Heile Boches (1989), through the label L'Âge d'or. They followed this with the studio recording Leopard II (1990). The group achieved recognition within literary contexts, including a fictional appearance in the novel Freitags isst man Fisch (2009) by Ilja Bohnet and Ann-Monika Pleitgen.
