Jessica Martina Wahls, known professionally as Jess, was born on February 2, 1977, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She is a German singer who began her musical journey at a young age, participating in the RTL show Mini Stars with her friend Kikki and later joining various choirs and bands. Wahls' breakthrough came when she was selected as a member of the girl group No Angels through the casting show Popstars in 2000. The group achieved success, releasing several albums and singles before Wahls announced her pregnancy in 2002 and took a hiatus from the band. After leaving No Angels, Wahls launched her solo career under the name Jess with the single "Ten Steps Back" in September 2003. In November of the same year, she participated in the TV Allstars project, contributing to the cover of "Do They Know It’s Christmas?", which reached number 3 on the German charts and was certified gold. Wahls' second single "Don’t Get Me Started" was released in August 2004. Throughout her career, Jess has collaborated with various artists, including Marshall & Alexander on the song When We Kiss.
