Athena Chu, born Chu Yan on October 25, 1971, in Kowloon, Hong Kong, is a singer known for her contributions to pop music. She began her career by hosting children's shows on TVB while studying at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 1990 to 1992. Chu made her film debut in Fight Back to School II (1992), which earned her a nomination at the Hong Kong Film Award for Best New Performer. Her breakthrough role came with A Chinese Odyssey (1995), where she portrayed Zi Xia, gaining widespread fame in Hong Kong and parts of Asia. Chu's musical career includes the debut album Earthquake (1996), Glass (1997), and Ti Ti Ta (1998).
