Tara Lyn Hart is a Canadian country music singer born Tara Mohr on April 11, 1978, in Roblin, Manitoba. After winning a music contest at age 17, she signed with Epic Records just before her 18th birthday. In 1998, Billboard named her "Most Likely to Succeed". Her self-titled debut album, Tara Lyn Hart, was released on October 5, 1999, featuring the single “Stuff That Matters”, which reached number 6 on the Canadian country charts. At the 2000 Juno Awards, she received nominations for Best New Solo Artist and Best Country Female Artist. Hart won the FACTOR Rising Star Award at the 2000 Canadian Country Music Association Awards and three Manitoba Association of Country Arts Awards. Following an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in April 2000, she received a second Juno nomination for Best Country Female Artist in 2001. After releasing the single “Happiness” in 2003, she abandoned her second album to focus on her family. She later appeared in the 2004 musical comedy Miss Kitty's Holiday Extravaganza and released the Christmas EP Perfect Holiday in 2010.
