Amoral is a Finnish heavy metal band formed in Helsinki, Finland, in 1997 by guitarist Ben Varon and drummer Juhana Karlsson, who were soon joined by guitarist Silver Ots. Their early demos, Desolation (2001) and Other Flesh (2002), set the stage for their debut album, Wound Creations (2004), which was originally released on Rage of Achilles Records and later reissued by Spinefarm Records. Follow-up albums Decrowning (2005) and Reptile Ride (2007) expanded their sound, with Reptile Ride peaking at number 5 on the Finnish album chart and featuring the single “Leave Your Dead Behind”. In 2008, vocalist Ari Koivunen joined, leading to a stylistic shift toward clean vocals on the album Show Your Colors (2009), which featured the single “Year of the Suckerpunch” and was voted the fifth-best domestic metal album at the 2009 Finnish Metal Awards. Subsequent studio albums include Beneath (2011), Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrows (2014), and In Sequence (2016). Although the members announced their disbandment on July 27, 2016 and played a final show at Tavastia Club on January 5, 2017, the group reunited in 2025 for an anniversary tour, performing in cities including Tampere, Kotka, and Helsinki.
