Turnstyle, an indie rock band from Perth, Western Australia, was formed in 1995 by Adem Kerimofski and Paul Fanning. The group gained initial traction with their EP Seasides in November 1997. Their breakthrough came with the single "Spray Water on the Stereo" from the album Turnstyle Country, released in 1999 by Spunk! Records. The song reached number 16 on the ARIA charts and was featured on Triple J's Hottest 100 at number 94. After releasing Turnstyle Corporation in October 2001, Turnstyle went on hiatus in 2002. They reunited in 2013 and released Time Equals Function in December 2015, followed by Happy Factories in December 2018. In September 2023, they released their latest album, Citizens' Handbook.
