Moos was born on August 29, 1974 in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) into a family of Moroccan origin. Raised in the mixed Bagatelle district, Moos listened to raï, funk and African music. In 1998, Moos released his first single: "Qui me donnera des ailes" (Who Will Give Me Wings ) came close to cracking the top 50 best-selling singles in France. Attracted by sensual R&B, Moos had the singular idea of using the theme from the film Love Story composed by Francis Laï as the basis for his song "Au nom de la rose". The effect was immediate, with a number-one hit in France and Belgium and almost a million singles sold. The album Le Crabe Est Érotique was released in 1999, reaching number 11 in the charts. However, the more overtly sexual content of the single "Délicate chatte" alienated the singer from his audience. Moos released the song "Comme une étoile" again in 2004, before opening a tearoom and club in the Ville Rose.
