Joi Barua, born Jayanta Barua in Digboi, Assam, India, is a singer and music composer. His musical journey began at age four when his father gifted him a violin. Barua's early breakthrough came through singing advertising jingles for campaigns including Fiat Linea and Vodafone. In 2010, Barua and his band Joi released their debut album, Joi: Looking out of the Window, which blended rock, soul, folk, and worldbeat. The band gained significant attention in 2022 when they performed an anthem at the Rezang La War Memorial, honoring Indian Army soldiers who lost their lives during the Indo-China War.
