Wilbert de Joode, born on May 11, 1955, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a Dutch jazz bassist. De Joode established himself as an autodidact musician and has played the double bass since 1982. His early career included performances with bands led by Vera Vingerhoeds, Armando Cairo, and Ig Henneman during the mid-1980s. De Joode's notable collaborations include his work with Ab Baars' trio from 1990 onwards, as well as contributions to various ensembles such as Eric Boeren 4tet and Michiel Braam's big band and trio. He has also performed as a soloist and in duos with artists like Tobias Delius. De Joode's discography includes albums such as Olo (2002) and Live at Atelier Tarwewijk (2014). In 2016, he received the Dutch Buma Boy Edgar Prijz.
