Wayne Wilkins, born in Croydon, London, is a British record producer, songwriter, record mixer, and record engineer. He began taking piano lessons at age four and earned a scholarship to a music conservatory as a child. Wilkins graduated with a physics degree from Imperial College and interned at Townhouse Studios and Olympic Studios, where he received training in engineering, mixing, and producing. His breakthrough came while interning at Olympic Studios, working for engineer Spike Stent on high-budget recordings featuring artists like Madonna and Beyoncé. In 2000, Wilkins started working independently, producing hits such as Natasha Bedingfield's "Single" (2004) and "These Words" (2004). He co-wrote and co-produced Beyoncé's "Sweet Dreams" from the album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), Cheryl Cole's "Fight For This Love" (2009), and Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield". Wilkins has won multiple BMI London Awards, including for "These Words" (2005) and "Single" (2006).
