Savage Circus was a German-Swedish power metal ensemble formed in 2004 by Thomas Stauch following his departure from Blind Guardian. The group's debut studio recording, Dreamland Manor, appeared in August 2005 and featured vocalist Jens Carlsson and guitarist Emil Norberg. Stauch was dismissed from the group in 2007 due to health issues and was replaced by drummer Mike Terrana. The ensemble released its second album, Of Doom and Death, in October 2009. Piet Sielck left the group in 2011 to focus on the band Iron Savior. Following several lineup changes, including the return of Stauch in 2012 and the departure of Carlsson and Norberg in 2014, Axel Morgan joined the ensemble. The group worked on a third album, but members eventually focused on other projects such as Serious Black and Wortmord. In 2021, Norberg described the ensemble as a finished project.
