Warren Hedley Williams, an Aboriginal Australian singer and musician, was born on December 27, 1963, in Ntaria, Australia. He began playing guitar at age six with his father, country musician Gus Williams. In 1995, Williams released his debut album Western Wind. His subsequent albums include Country Friends and Me (1998), Where My Heart Is (2001), Places in Between (2002), Be Like Home (2005), Looking Out (2009), and Desert Water (2016). In 2007, he wrote the musical Magic Coolamon, the first Central Australian Indigenous musical. Williams collaborated with John Williamson on multiple tours, including "Hillbilly Road" in 2008. He also worked with Dani Young on the album Desert Water. His radio career includes being the first remote Indigenous broadcaster on the 8KIN FM network and presenting shows on CAAMA Radio. Williams was inducted into the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
