Hirofumi Bamba (born February 20, 1950 in Kyoto Prefecture) is a Japanese folk singer. While a student at Ritsumeikan University, he formed the folk group "Jackels" and began his music career in earnest. 1971 he formed the folk group "Bang Bang" with Itaru Takayama and others, and released "Ichigo Hakusho" once more in 1975, which was a big hit. 1978 he began his solo career. On September 21, 1979, he released the single "SACHIKO, " for which he composed the music. The song became an explosive hit immediately after its release and is widely recognized as a masterpiece representing his career. In March 2024, he announced that he would be taking a break from performing due to age-related hearing loss.
