Born in 1993, Ethyène started producing at the age of 16 and became resident dj for the hip-hop collective Artjacking France the same year.
Shaped by digging the whole different sounds of black music, his productions reflect a mature, well influenced but always very personal approach of sample-based music.
The young producer's career took on a new lease of life with the co-founding of the record label Moonrise Hill Material in 2015 and new releases on some cool imprints such as Kolour LTD, Better Listen or Nervous Records.
At the end of 2017, after having his Kolour LTD EP charted in the top 10 best deep house releases of the year by Juno, Ethyène released his debut LP ‘Brotherly Love’ on Moonrise Hill Material.
In 2021, with a team of 4 other friends, Ethyène launched a new label ‘Tough on Purpose’ in order to release stuff more rooted in his hip-hop influences. His second LP ‘State of the Union’ is expected on the label for June 2021.
