Robertino, born in Rotterdam and raised in Capelle aan den IJssel, began rapping in English in 2002, inspired by legends like Dr. Dre and Eminem. A turning point came when a close friend introduced him to Extince’s debut album, Binnenlandse Funk (1998). From that moment on, he switched to rapping in Dutch. Not long after, he discovered artists like Opgezwolle and Winne, who further influenced his musical direction.
Day in, day out, he continued to develop his craft in his own unique way. In addition to performing, he participated in freestyle rap battles to gain experience and build a name within the Dutch hip-hop scene. His passion and dedication did not go unnoticed, eventually leading to an invitation to join the jury of the Punchoutbattles platform.
His music is sincere, accessible, and uplifting, with influences from soul, boom-bap, and modern hip-hop. Through his own label, Nederhoop, he releases music that focuses on awareness, creativity, and musical authenticity.
