The Sound of Urchin is an American rock ensemble formed in 1998 in Brooklyn and New Hope. Lead vocalist and drummer Chris Harfenist, known as Tomato, established the label Steven Records and released the debut studio album All That And A Brandy Alexander in 1998. The group signed with RCA Records and collaborated with Dean Ween on The Orange E.P. (2000). Between 2001 and 2002, the band released The Jack And Diane E.P. and the album You Are The Best. In 2005, the ensemble released the studio recording The Diamond, which featured the song “There Are People In The Clouds”. The group performed this track on the television program The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The band collaborated with Tenacious D, serving as their opening act in 2001. Later recordings included the studio albums Black Castle (2014) and The WoozyFly Sessions (2015).
