Son Goku, a German musical group formed in 2002, originated as a side project of Thomas D of Die Fantastischen Vier, who had a background in hip‑hop and solo work. The band, named after the Dragon Ball protagonist, emerged from the M.A.R.S. commune and combined hardcore punk, alternative, reggae, and electronic elements. Thomas D provided vocals and lyrics, while Bertil Mark served as drummer and producer, and other members contributed guitar and bass. Their breakthrough came with the single "Alle für jeden", released on 17 June 2002, which entered the Media Control Charts at position 86. The same month, the group issued its sole album Crashkurs on 29 July 2002; the album peaked at position 15 on the German charts and at position 35 in Austria, marking the band’s highest commercial achievement. Despite the initial success, internal dissension led to the group’s disbandment. No further releases followed, and the project remained a brief entry in early 2000s German rock, reflecting Thomas D’s experimentation beyond his established hip‑hop persona.
