Ryan Michael Malcolm, born on October 13, 1979, in Kingston, Ontario, is a Canadian singer. He grew up in a small town of Amherstview and began his musical journey singing with his father John at local restaurants. In 2003, Malcolm gained national recognition as the winner of the first season of Canadian Idol. His debut single "Something More" was released post-victory and topped the Canadian Singles Chart for thirteen consecutive weeks. Later that year, he released his debut album Home, which peaked at Number 4 on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified platinum. In 2006, Malcolm formed Low Level Flight, an alternative rock band, with whom he released two studio albums: Urgency (2007) and Through These Walls (2011). The band toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, India, and Mexico. CEO of I Heart Records, a Toronto-based record label, Ryan Malcolm returned to music in 2025 with the single "Ready Set Go".
