Berit Hagen, known professionally as The Commander-In-Chief, was born on April 14, 1989, in Bergen, Norway. She is a guitarist and singer who began her musical journey at the age of 16. Her international upbringing included living in Italy, France, and the United States, where she also pursued visual arts. The Commander-In-Chief released her first demos in 2008 and 2009, followed by her debut EP Evolution in 2012. She gained recognition for her metal-pop/classical-crossover style, collaborating with Craig Ogden on the album 2 Guitars - The Classical Crossover Album in 2014. Notable releases include I Am (2016), Berit - Vol. 1 (2018), and The Virtuoso (2020). She has been endorsed by Ibanez guitars and is known for her distinctive uniform during performances. The Commander-In-Chief was nominated for "Best Metal Song" in 2011 and 2012 by the Hollywood Music In Media Awards.
