Christian Rannenberg, born on June 21, 1956, in Solingen, Germany, is a pianist known for his contributions to blues and boogie-woogie music. In 1976, while studying biology at the University of Osnabrück, he co-founded the Blues Company with Todor "Toscho" Todorovic. Rannenberg's early career included collaborations with notable artists such as Billy Boy Arnold, J.B. Hutto, and Eddie Clearwater through his work with Das Dritte Ohr. In 1982, he moved to Chicago, where he performed with John Littlejohn and Jimmy Rogers. He later formed the International Blues Duo with Gary Wiggins, touring extensively in Europe. Rannenberg's discography includes albums like Long Way from Home (1989/90) with The Pink Piano Allstars and Old School Blues Piano Stylings (2017). He has also collaborated with artists such as Charlie Musselwhite, Angela Brown, Big Jay McNeely, and Torsten Zwingenberger. In 2013, Rannenberg received the Pinetop Boogie-Woogie Award for his contributions to blues piano.
