Home Town Hero were an American alternative rock, indie rock, and indie pop band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2002. The group was formed by Aaron Bruno and Drew Stewart, who signed to Maverick Records and released their self-titled debut album, Home Town Hero, in 2002. Following member changes, the band became inactive in 2004. Bruno and Stewart subsequently performed with Jamin Wilcox and released the album Bitch City in 2004. The ensemble changed their name to Under the Influence of Giants in 2005 because their former label held the legal rights to the original name. The band signed with Island Records and released the album Under the Influence of Giants in 2006, which reached number one on the Top Heatseekers chart. The recording featured the single “Mama's Room”. The ensemble became inactive in 2008. Bruno later formed the group Awolnation.
