Rafał Sarnecki, born December 11, 1982, in Warsaw, Poland, is a musician, guitarist, and composer known for his work in jazz. He started his career in the early 2000s within the Polish jazz scene, with his first recordings in 2004 backing Marzena Grzymała. Sarnecki moved to New York City in 2005 on a scholarship, earning degrees from The New School and Queens College, CUNY. He released his debut album, Songs from a New Place, in 2008 as part of the quartet, followed by The Madman Rambles Again (2011), Cat’s Dream (2014), and Climbing Trees (2018). Sarnecki won the International Jazz Guitar Competition – Guitar City in Warsaw in 2002.
