Swirl, an Australian indie rock band, formed in Sydney in early 1991 and consisted of Ben Aylward on guitar and vocals, David Lord on drums, and Nicola Schultz on bass guitar and vocals. They released their first extended play, Swirl, in December 1991, followed by their debut album, Aurora, in May 1992. Their second album, The Last Unicorn, was released in May 1994 and featured guest performances by Lara Goodridge on violin and Sarah Peet on cello. In 1997, Schultz left the band and was replaced by Richard Anderson on bass guitar and keyboards and Keira Hodgkison on guitar and vocals. Swirl's last studio album, Light Fill My Room, was released in July 2001. The band broke up in December 2002 as members pursued other musical projects. In 2010, they released a digital double album of EP, b-sides, and live tracks, Satellites (One) and Satellites (Two).
