De Plattfööt, a German musical group from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, was formed in 1979 by singers and guitarists Peter Wilke and Klaus Lass. The duo, originating from Rostock, began their career with the release of their first single "Disco up'n Dörp" in 1982. Their music blended folk, blues, and country elements, with lyrics inspired by the works of Rudolf Tarnow and Fritz Reuter. De Plattfööt released several albums throughout their career, including Platt for ju (1982), Songs ut Meckelbörg (1985), and Wenn du ok Plattfööt hest... (1989). Notable songs include "Remmi Demmi" (1983) and "Hubertusjagd" (1992). The group gained significant media presence through appearances on radio, television, and numerous live performances across Germany, Sweden, Austria, and Singapore. They were also awarded the Fritz-Reuter-Kunstpreis for their contributions to German music culture. De Plattfööt disbanded in 2013, with Klaus Lass continuing his musical career as a solo artist under the name De Plattfoot Klaus.
