Flowing Tears, a German gothic metal band, was formed in 1994 under the initial name Flowing Tears and Withered Flowers. The group released their first demo, Bijou, in 1995, followed by two studio albums, Swansongs (1996) and Joy Parade (1998), and an EP titled Swallow (1999). After the release of Swallow, the band shortened their name to Flowing Tears. Their breakthrough album, Jade, was released in 2000. The group's subsequent albums included Serpentine (2002) and Razorbliss (2004), during which time they toured with After Forever. Tragically, two founding members, Björn Lorson and Christian Zimmer, died in a car accident on October 20, 2004. The band continued with the release of their final album, Thy Kingdom Gone, in November 2008, an album-concept featuring artwork by Seth Siro Anton. Flowing Tears announced their hiatus in January 2013 and officially disbanded in March 2014.
