Alireza Assar, born January 24, 1970 in Tehran, Iran, is an Iranian singer and pianist. He began studying piano at a young age under Kavous Samandar, Javad Maaroufi, and Mostafa Pourtorab and performed his first concert at 16. Assar's career as a pop singer started in March 1997 with the television performance of "Eidaneh". His debut album Kouch-e Asheghaneh was released in 1999 and featured the hit single "Ghodsiane Aseman". In 2006, he collaborated with Shahrdad Rohani and the London Symphony Orchestra for Open Secret, recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Assar held a successful concert in January 2016 after six years of silence, selling over 20,000 tickets. His album Joz Eshgh Nemikhaham, released in December 2017, was chosen as the best album of the year by musicians at the "Muzice Ma" Festival.
