Murthala Fançony Bravo de Oliveira, known professionally as Dog Murras, was born on 17 February 1977 in Angola. He is a singer and songwriter specializing in kuduro and world music. Murras began his musical journey while studying at a Fine Arts high school in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he participated in local singing contests. In 1995, he secured third place at Flava nightclub's ragamuffin contest, which marked the start of his professional career.Encouraged by Eduardo Paím and Miguel Neto, Murras returned to Luanda to establish himself as a serious musician. In 1998, Dog Murras released "Don't Know" as part of Pomba Branca charity project. His debut album, Sui Generis, was released in 1999 with Nelo Paím and Eduardo Paím serving as instrumentalist/producer and executive producer respectively. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Luck Seimol, Mister Kim, Flay, and Eduardo Paím.
